My husband and a mate and I went out there a fortnight ago and had a ball. I caught a 76 cm barra much to the guys dismay. We loved it so much we have booked again this weekend. Highly recommended arvo even for us locals.
Just a quick email to say we had a great time out at the farm on Friday!
The kids loved it mate, I was worried they might be a bit young but they all had a ripper time.
Your bloke Jarred was really patient and easy going. Not always the case when you’ve got kids in tow.
Smiles all round – couple of pics attached.
Cheers

Now I know some purists might say catching Barra out of a Dam is not in the spirit of fishing & it was never meant to be that at all, this was an opportunity for those around me day to day to experience the feeling of catching a barra, having a bit of fun with the occasional sledge thrown in, all of which made it a great day seeing eyes open up to what fishing is about.
Now would I recommend the Barra Farm experience to everyone?, yes!
I’m told by the owner that these Barra might not fight as hard as their saltie brothers & sisters, but I know most of my crew had them jumping & turning, my experience on fly was great & for any club members who haven’t hooked many large barra this is good practice & a learning curve. To the family members in the Club, a great way to introduce the kids & wife/partner to the sport in a safe environment, no croc’s or anything that can bite you & a guarantee of landing a decent barra.
Will I go back? yes !!!!
hi

Just wanted to thank you for an absolutely wonderful afternoon with you and your fish. We came down with my sister and her family on the last day of their trip to Darwin – what a way to end their trip. Everyone had a ball – even my husband who has his own boat and has fished the harbour and out, and the billabongs and river systems in the Top End. Would recommend it to everyone – a great family outing. I have put some photos and a review on Trip Advisor too. Again many thanks to you and our guide.
Tried it with rellies from down south on the sunday morning of Darwin Cup weekend . They loved it. We all had a great time. Will be back with the next lot of visitors for sure. I am going to try to arrange a visit, as a staff reward afternoon as well. When you visit make sure you get some of the smoked fish they have for sale – it is very tasty – highly recomended.

Hi Adam, Jarred and Mike,
Had a fantastic afternoon Thursday 14 July doing something I have never done in my life!! I was the lady in the lime green shirt who ‘fought’ the monster. After some guidance from the experts (you guys) I landed it on shore only to have it look up at me as if to say ‘you think you got me? Watch this….’ The monster vigorously spat out the lure and slid back into the pond! Did it wink at me???Hahaha
Peter feels privileged to have had the opportunity to ‘test’ your wide variety of secret lures!!
We will pass your brochures around and tell all and sundry of that great afternoon.
Wishing you all the very best in your venture.
My husband Ken and I had the most fantastic time fishing. The catching of the barra was the most exciting thing I have ever done, my son who is a fisherman can’t believe I was so thrilled about the whole event and I think I have even beaten him on the weight of the Barrra! We have told many people in our travels and will tell many more and wish you the best of luck in your new venture……. Val .. Our venture was on 9th July I was the lady who was so excited when you were taking the phots!!
Thanks for the positive feedback Val: have you got some photos that you can post? or a favorite barra recipe?
Had the most amazing time, Thanks for doing something like this. Between 3 people and 15 Barra later = FUN
Had a great afternoon, would recommend it for a fun time and plenty of Barra caught
ReelBrainFood’s Asian Barramundi Recipe: quick, easy and very good eating!
The first thing you will need to do is go to an Asian food Store and buy some
Chilli paste with soya bean oil (eg Pantainorasingh Brand)
This is a fabulously flavoured dark paste made in Thailand and it’s NOT hot.
Once you have your paste the rest is very easy and quick.
Take the Barramundi fillets and squeeze over lime or lemon juice and sprinkle with salt. Leave to one side or in refrigerator for 30 mins. In a fry pan stir-fry one table spoon of paste in two table spoons of oil, add fillets and sear on one side, add 1/4 cup of coconut milk, cook a minute or so then turn the fillet over and cook till done. It will have a dark cajun look.
I now buy several jars of Chilli paste in soya bean oil at a time as this recipe has become a staple at our house and visitors are always asking how it is done. The jars of chilli paste make a great gift!!
Great afternoon out. Can recommend to even the most amateur of fisherpersons.
It will be a winner .
